Buddha’s Hand | Visionary Meditation Art Buddha’s Hand was inspired by a vivid vision I experienced during a period of deep meditation while living among the redwood-covered hills of Cazadero, California, near a Tibetan Buddhist monastery. During meditation, I experienced luminous visions of Buddhist monks and figures appearing within glowing, fractal-like orbs. In one especially powerful encounter, a radiant figure extended a shining hand toward me. I experienced the gesture as an acknowledgment and encouragement: Yes. Keep doing what you are doing. It is powerful. The image remained so vivid in my memory that I eventually felt compelled to paint it. Rendered in intense reds, golds and luminous light, Buddha’s Hand is not intended as a depiction of Buddhist doctrine, but as a personal visual record of a profound meditative experience and the sense of connection, mystery and wonder it left behind. This painting is part of an emerging series drawn from visions and imagery recorded in my sketchbooks over many years.
