Graton Yard – Sonoma County California Landscape Canvas Print

Graton Yard was painted from my backyard in Graton, California, during my first year living in Sonoma County. At the time, we lived on the Marimar Torres vineyard, whose rows of grapevines can be glimpsed through the trees in the distance. I returned to this peaceful view several times, drawn to the old trees, dappled sunlight, dry golden earth, and brilliant California greens.

It was a time of tremendous change in my life, and after experiencing a deeply personal loss, this quiet corner of the yard became a place of reflection and comfort. Painting the landscape helped me slow down, observe the changing light, and reconnect with the beauty of the natural world around me.

This painting remains a reminder of the quiet refuge we can find in nature and of how beauty can still surround us during difficult seasons of life.
