Lavender Sunshine – Cazadero California Landscape Canvas Print Lavender Sunshine was inspired by the lavender field in my neighbors’ front yard in Cazadero, California, near the rugged Pacific coast and the Timber Cove area of Sonoma County. We lived in a little cabin tucked into the redwoods just up the hill from Highway 1, in a place that felt like our own piece of paradise. It was where I became a mother and where we spent the first four years of my daughter’s life surrounded by forests, hills, wildlife, and the beauty of the Northern California coast. Our neighbors’ property was especially beautiful, with a lavender field, a large pond, and horses grazing below. From my back deck at the top of the hill, I could look down into the valley and see their property nestled into the landscape. This painting captures the lavender glowing beneath a soft, sunlit sky, surrounded by the layered greens of the Cazadero countryside. Loose, impressionistic brushwork and touches of violet, pink, blue, and gold reflect the dreamy quality of a place I remember as extraordinarily beautiful. Originally painted in oil by Heather Caulfield, Lavender Sunshine is reproduced as a fine art canvas print celebrating the color, light, and quiet magic of California’s Sonoma Coast.
